| Setting
Up JOB MASTER manufacturing software |
The
first step in using Job Master manufacturing software is to set up and enter
the information Job Master needs in order to function.
Job Master manufacturing inventory software allows users to check inventory in and out
for use in production, insert pre set labor charges, select
shipping carriers and standard operations, select salespersons
commissions when creating a sales order, and more.
Job Master job shop software also automatically fills in your address and
company information on invoices, sales orders and other
documents, along with auto filling the appropriate
information on purchase orders, sales orders, inventory
reports, and shipping addresses. Job Master job tracking software, of
course, needs to get this information from somewhere,
which is why step one is entering the information Job
Master needs in order for it to function properly, and
for your operators to use it efficiently. The good
news here is that you only need to enter information once
to have it available to, and used by, all areas of Job
Master.
Material
Inventory: Allows your company to monitor the whereabouts
of materials as well as who checked them in or out. This
section also manages min/max inventory quantities, ensuring
that enough material is on hand, and also guaranteeing
that your company isnt overflowing with a surplus
of unneeded materials.
Labor Charges: Operators
can describe the various types of labor that are used
to create a companys product and to list the per
hour rate for that labor.
Other Charges: Operators
can enter descriptions and rates for all other types of
charges that are generated in the manufacturing of their
companys product.
Ship Via: Enter in
the different shipping methods your company uses.
Terms: Allows an
operator to enter the various terms that their company
uses when customers are billed.
Operations: List
of operations performed to produce products, along with
descriptions in detail as to exactly how to do each operation.
Preferred status:
Set different ratings for vendors that can be used when
ordering supplies so that the best vendor can be contracted
quickly and efficiently.
Sales Rep.: Information
for each sales representative in the company can be assigned
such as ID number, name, and even commission percentage.
Cert. Statements:
Provides a means to create certifications or cert statements
for the various products that a company produces. |

| 1. |
Can inventory levels be adjusted? |
| |
Yes, inventory levels can be adjusted by either going into the MATERIAL INVENTORY in the LISTS section and by selecting the EDIT button, an operator with managerial status can adjust inventory levels. The only other way to adjust inventory levels is in the RECEIVING section in the PURCHASING list. |
| 2. |
Can minimum reorder levels be set? |
| |
Yes, minimum reorder levels can be set so that your company will never run out of a product. If inventory goes past the MINIMUM LEVEL of a material, which can be accessed by entering the MATERIAL INVENTORY in the LISTS section and by selecting the EDIT button, Job Master manufacturing inventory software will prompt the operator to reorder the material. |
| 3. |
What do I do if I need Job Master to reorder materials for me? |
| |
Well, operators can pre-select the minimum amount of a material that can be allowed on hand and then select the amount of that material that should be reordered if the inventory drops below the minimum amount. This can all be done by going into the MATERIAL INVENTORY in the LISTS section and by selecting the EDIT button. When materials do need to be reordered, Job Master machine shop software will flag an operator to notify them that inventory levels are low, and if the operator so chooses can send out a purchase order right there. |
| 4. |
Can a maximum inventory level be set? |
| |
Yes a maximum inventory level can be set, this feature is especially for small businesses, so that money is not tied up in back inventory. The maximum inventory level can be set by going into the MATERIAL INVENTORY in the LISTS section and by selecting the EDIT button. |
| 5. |
Can I enter my shipper or multiple shipper information into Job Master? |
| |
Yes, operators can enter their preferred shippers by selecting the SHIP VIA button found in the LISTS section and entering the service name, i.e. UPS, Fed EX, or USPS, and their account number with said service. The information provided in this section can be used at a later time when operators are sending products or materials to customers. |
| 6. |
Can you enter labor and related costs for producing a product so that are available in a drop down menu? |
| |
When setting up Job Master job cost tracking software, an operator can enter Labor descriptions and prices in the LABOR CHARGES section, Material descriptions and prices in the MATERIAL INVENTORY section, and descriptions and prices of other tasks in the OTHER CHARGES section. The descriptions and charges entered in these sections become available when creating a Quotation or Sales Order in a drop down menu if the operator goes into the COST BREAK DOWN SECTION. |
